Helicopter Spirals Wildly into Palm Fronds at Frequented California Beach
An aircraft flying above a popular coastal shoreline unexpectedly began spiraling out of control, ultimately losing altitude and smashing into a cluster of palm groves as beachgoers watched.
Videos uploaded on the internet show the chopper commencing to spiral near the shoreline then plunging towards the edge of the beach, where it becomes wedged between palms and a steps near the coastal road.
Emergency Response Details
The Huntington Beach fire department reported five persons were taken to hospital comprising a pair who were in the chopper and were “rescued from the debris” subsequent to the accident on that day.
Three persons on the pavement were injured. Specifics on their injuries were still under review.
What led to the incident was not immediately released.

The department indicated the aircraft was associated with an yearly “Cars N Copters” fundraising event set for Sunday.
