Exploring an Unique Steam Game Trial: Guiding a Piece of Feces in a Mission to Find the Toilet

Steam Next Fest is in full swing, and gamers have encountered plenty of entertaining creations from small studios. Yet, one catches the eye for its quirky concept. Named Unko Technica, this retro-inspired platformer features a hero that is actually a turd striving to make its way to a restroom. In case you're wondering, "Unko" is Japanese for "poop."

How you interact is easy to grasp: just use a one button to leap. In 150 challenges, battle mini-bosses and access a store to buy customizations for your fecal avatar.

Plan your jumps with caution, since one wrong move forces beginning again. Leap off floating orbs to hurl your character upward, navigate fragile platforms, and interact with triggers to unlock new areas. Gather UN-KOINS and use them on challenging levels in which the action ramps up.

In terms of design, the demo features neon environments and a killer soundtrack. Its minimalist graphics with morphing abstract forms may remind fans of old favorites like Earthbound.

While it's tough to name previous releases where you control a dung character, gaming frequently featured fecal matter. As an illustration, in Death Stranding, you can craft grenades from character droppings. Titles such as Palworld and Ark: Survival Evolved utilize dung as plant food. And of course, fecal references shows up heavily in the adventure The Stick of Truth.

Despite its humorous concept, Unko Technica has already received notable recognition, such as winning at a major publisher's GYAAR Studio in 2023. A playable preview is available currently on Steam, with the full game scheduled to arrive on Steam this November.
