Battlefield 6 Gamers Concur: Tasks Are Excessively Difficult

The release of the highly anticipated Battlefield 6 garnered broad praise, especially for its flagship multiplayer mode. Just on Steam, concurrent player counts peaked at nearly 750,000. Nevertheless, despite its popularity, many players are voicing discontent with some of the game's toughest challenges, which are necessary to obtain particular firearms.

Users have commenced turning to tailored sessions created through the custom game tool to finish these tasks, highlighting just how arduous these missions have become.

Comprehending Battlefield 6 Tasks

Missions serve as Battlefield 6's ongoing multiplayer objectives, in contrast to the regularly refreshed daily and weekly challenges. It features four categories of assignments, but while the majority merely grant outfits and select equipment, completing the weapon assignments is the sole method of getting a dozen out of forty-one key firearms available in the game.

Several of these locked weapons may soon earn a place on lists of the top weapons in Battlefield 6.

Gamer Backlash via Reddit

Over on Reddit, players are understandably voicing their concerns about how hard and tedious some of these challenges are. A particular gamer emphasized one of the most egregious examples, needed to obtain the KTS100 MK8 LMG:

  • Subdue 300 opponents with LMGs
  • Inflict 10,000 hipfire damage with LMGs

"This challenge is so atrocious and entirely ill-conceived, I want to scream in frustration," is a comment that illustrates just how excessively challenging these tasks are.

The suppression feature in the game is more diminished than before in the series, so it lacks nearly as many benefits in combat as it used to in previous games. It only counts as suppression if you fire a burst without hitting the target.

At the same time, firing an LMG without aiming is extremely unreliable and functions solely at very short distances, which is not usually a position you prefer to be. The same user also noted the contradiction in the SMG challenge, required for the SCW-10, which demands eliminations when scoped in, when that task would be far more appropriate to hipfire kills, and conversely.

Another Extremely Difficult Task

One more community participant pointed out a further incredibly demanding challenge, now in the sniper rifle category to access the PSR:

  • Get 150 headshot kills beyond 200 meters with long-range weapons

This is difficult enough by itself, but there's another important point to consider: most Battlefield 6 maps fail to facilitate combat at that kind of range.

There is a decent selection of map sizes, but since there are only nine levels in the game right now, it means you're limited to playing New Sobek City, another expansive area, and maybe an additional option at a push if you aim to take long-range shots from over 200m away.

The Bypass

However, there is a solution: the portal. The Battlefield Portal is a tool that allows you to design tailored experiences on whatever map you choose, complete with bots. This allows you can cheese the system… but it doesn't exactly feel like the spirit of the game.

But when tackling the tasks in a standard match seems counterproductive, since you must engage in such an unorthodox manner that doesn't benefit you or your team, is it surprising for grinding them out in a private match so squad members are not disadvantaged?

Upcoming Tweaks

It should not be shocking if some of these assignments are toned down in the coming days or weeks, because if they're not, a portion of the user base simply won't get their hands on the gated weapons.

Currently, the audience continues to voice their opinions on these demanding battlefield assignments, expecting a fairer gaming experience in subsequent patches.
